Located close to the famous Carcassonne city in the South of France we
are a small traditional winegrower and our 25 acres vineyard is in our family
since 1895.
Mourviels is the
only red wine which associates Atlantic type merlot-cabernet grape and
Mediterranean grenache-syrah grape to obtain originals complexes aromas.
Our vineyard ground is formed with
chalky white stone and marly clay on on the south, south-west hillside.
The climate which plays between the
Mediterranean dry and warm sun and the freshness of Atlantic ocean, helps
in the complete maturation of the grapes.
Our wine
production combines modernism and ancestral know-how. A quarter of
the wine is aged six month in French oak barrels and then assembled.
As we seek the quality we
have a relative low productivity of grape (35hl/ha).
We
produce only 12,000 bottles of 75cl per year of an excellent red wine with
best quality-price ratio for
export.
